ED ARCILLA (Philippines, b. 1948) studied at UE School of Music and Art and completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Advertising. He took up his master’s studies at the College of Fine Arts, University of the Philippines in Diliman.
Arcilla lived in Hong Kong for 14 years as a resident artist at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Hyatt Singapore and Hyatt Kingsgate (Sydney, Australia), and returned to Manila with fiber optic technology, where he pioneered the design and application of signage systems for over 40 years, primarily in the advertising industry, interior design and architecture. He therefore carved out a niche for himself with his own copyrighted lighting brand TREKLITE.
Another passion of Arcila is photography, a passion that began in high school. He joined the Advertising Services Association of the Philippines (ASAP), serving as president and chairman. He also joined the Zone V Camera Club, one of the second oldest camera clubs in the Philippines, and served as president several years later.He is currently a fiber optic lighting and visual artist. Currently, he serves both as the President of the University of the East Alumni Association Incorporated, and the UE Fine Arts Alumni Association. He is also the Vice-President of the Bicol Express-ion Artists Group.
