KIM SUNGTAE (South Korea, b. 1977) completed his studies in South Korea and graduated from Chung-Ang University (CAU) in 2000. He worked on about 500 murals and gave special lectures like drawings in various places, including Asiana Airlines. Starting with a solo exhibition at Shinhan Gallery in 2009, he has exhibited at various exhibitions overseas such as in Los Angeles, Miami, Japan, Philippines, Russia, and at different places in Korea.
Kim currently works hard hard to develop the field while pioneering the Korean pencil genre. In January 2024), he won the Yongin Artist Award, which is the best award in Yongin. In March 2024, he appeared on a program called "Hwa 100," at MBN Broadcasting Station (Korea). He is an artist who pursues surrealism and draws unique drawings by showing creativity in the most detailed expressions drawn with pencils. In the black-and-white world that he expresses, he casts the imagination of various colors to the audience to create mystery and makes them think about the philosophical depth unique to the East.
