GIE DRIUS (b. 1975, Lithuania) is an innovative audiovisual artist based in Hong Kong, with a rich cultural heritage rooted in Lithuania. Raised in a filmmaking environment with his father, he developed a lifelong passion for cinematic storytelling and artistic expression. Surrounded by art books and born to parents who were accomplished linguists and teachers, and to parents who were painters, art directors, and filmmakers, he fostered his unique creative abilities.
His early musical explorations led him to traditional classical choral performances, but eventually veered toward experimental audio sampling and avant-garde soundscapes. Forming several bands, he discovered the thrill of live performance and multimedia experimentation. Residencies at AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island, and various arts communities in New York City further fueled his creativity, revealing new ways of expressing himself through music, visual art, theatre, and comedy.
Today, Drius explores the intersection of art, technology, and human experience, seeking new ways to connect and communicate with audiences.
