LEONARDO"LEI" MANTO III (Philippines, b. 1983) is a talented and creative artist born in Caloocan City. He pursued his passion for art while studying advertising at the University of the East-Caloocan. While in college, his artistic talent was recognized by the university with prestigious awards, including the 2011 Artist of the Year Award and the President's Award for Visual Arts.
His style focuses on unfinished jigsaw puzzles, visualizing hidden emotions that the subject might otherwise hide. Using mixed media, he creates pop culture and surreal paintings that explore themes of identity, emotion, memories and the human experience.
Manto's artistic journey has been marked by numerous successes, including winning the grand prize at the Philippine National Petroleum Corporation (PNOC) Calendar Illustration Competition and placing second and third in the sculpture and painting categories, respectively, at the 17th GSIS National Competition in 2022. His unique style and unwavering passion for the visual arts have made him a prominent figure in the art world.
