After PARK JIMAN (South Korea) graduated from the Department of Painting at Hongik University in Seoul, he settled in Busan and devoted himself to teaching art to secondary students, and other art schools until 2016. He had his solo exhibitions in Seoul in 2009 & 2011 but took a short break from painting, and one day he decided to continue painting before it was too late.
Beginning with the drawing exhibition in 2017, he continuously created many artworks, and managed to hold 5 solo exhibitions, and was able to participate in the Asia Contemporary Art Show (2019) in Hong Kong. This year, he held his 6th & 7th solo exhibitions in Busan and Hanam.
Park’s technique is to paint and wipe with cloths and cotton swabs. To him, painting means adding onto nothing while wiping means taking something out of what exists. He enjoys drawing subjects such as horses, whales, balloons, and wings, and seeks to express freedom, hope, and dreams in his paintings. He prefers using oil medium when painting but recently, he has tried new attempts in acrylic paints to explore new techniques.
