ROSS DIONISIO (Philippines, b. 1982) earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising from Bulacan State University. Known for his harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics, Dionisio creates timeless yet contemporary sculptures, balancing emotional depth with striking visual forms.

His early works explore the complex duality of human behavior, focusing on the delicate line between self-destruction and healing. Through abstract forms and raw materials, he captured moments of vulnerability and the tension between breaking down and rebuilding, prompting viewers to reflect on resilience and transformation in their own lives.

Today, Dionisio enters a new, uplifting chapter in his artistic journey. Shifting to themes of joy, hope, and lightheartedness, he features the clown as a central figure in his work. The clown symbolizes resilience, humor, and the unwavering human spirit. This shift reflects his belief that art can offer healing and hope, reminding us to the brighter side of life even in turbulent times.

His creative process reflects the themes of creation and reinvention. Each piece begins with oil-based clay sculpting, followed by custom rubber mold making, and culminates in polyester resin casting. Through this meticulously hands-on approach, this allows him to push the boundaries of his materials while preserving a human touch in his every work.

With a practice that has evolved from exploring life’s shadows to celebrating its joys, his art invites audiences to experience both the weight and the lightness of existence—showing that healing is not the end of the story, but the beginning of something beautiful.
